Description

These are women's high-waisted stretch leggings and yoga pants, made for bulk buyers rather than for a single shop counter. The range runs from plain full-length leggings through pocketed gym styles to cropped and cycling lengths, and the same block is cut across all of them, so a mixed order still arrives with consistent sizing.

The cloth is a four-way stretch knit rather than the two-way jersey used for the cheapest leggings. That is what lets the fabric recover after a squat instead of bagging at the knee, and it is also what keeps the knit closed instead of going sheer under stretch. It is the reason a proper legging costs more per piece than a thin one.

Two groups buy this style in volume. Gym and fitness shops take the plain black and the dark colourways, which sell all year and need no explaining. Instagram and WhatsApp resellers take the bright colours and the pocketed styles, because a photograph has to do all the selling and a side pocket is what raises the asking price.

These are the points that decide what actually arrives in the container. Every one of them is confirmed against the specific supplier and against an approved sample before we quote.

Knit	Warp-knit or circular-knit jersey with elastane running through the whole cloth. Four-way stretch moves with the body in both directions. Two-way stretch runs across only, and it is what makes a legging bag at the knee.
Fabric weight	Commonly 220 to 280 GSM for a squat-proof legging. Lighter cloth feels cooler and costs less; heavier cloth stays opaque under stretch and survives more washes. Ask for the figure in writing, because a photograph will not tell you.
Composition	Nylon and spandex or polyester and spandex, commonly 12 to 25 per cent elastane. Nylon feels softer against the skin and holds colour longer. Polyester costs less and dries faster, which matters in this climate.
Opacity	Squat-proof opacity is a question of weight and knit, not a claim a supplier makes. Stretch a sample over your hand in daylight before you approve it. Cloth going see-through under stretch is the single most common reason a legging comes back.
Waistband	High-rise flat band, commonly 10 to 15 centimetres deep, as a folded casing or a bonded panel. A shallow or thin band rolls down at the front on every wearer, and a rolled band is returned as a fault rather than as a preference.
Pockets	Side thigh pockets deep enough for a phone, with a hidden waistband pocket on some styles. Pockets add a small cost per piece and noticeably lift what a reseller can ask for the same garment.
Minimum order	1,000 pieces across the whole order, not per colour. Colours, lengths and sizes are mixed freely within that figure.
Size range	Typically S to 3XL on the Asian grade. Ask for the measurement chart in centimetres rather than relying on the letters. Asian sizing runs smaller than Nigerian buyers expect, and on a fitted garment that error shows on the first fitting.
Colour control	Specified by Pantone reference and confirmed by lab dip before bulk production. Ask for the wash-fastness grade on black, because black leggings that grey out after ten washes end the repeat order.
Branding	Waistband logo, heat-transfer print at the hip, woven size label and printed care label are all possible on a factory order. Stock purchases arrive with whatever the mill already applied.
Packing	Individually polybagged or bulk packed, with the size assortment set per carton. This decides how much sorting you do before the first piece can be sold.

That is worth checking against any other quotation you hold. Minimums in this trade are usually counted per colour, which is where buyers lose money: four colourways on a per-colour minimum of 1,000 is a 4,000-piece commitment and four times the cash. Ask every supplier whether their figure is per style, per colour or per size run, and get the answer in writing.

Custom waistband logos, custom labels and non-standard colours each tend to carry their own minimum on top. A first order is nearly always better placed on stock colours in a standard size run.

What decides the right one

Opacity comes first, before colour and before price. A thin legging looks identical to a good one in a photograph and goes see-through the first time a customer bends in front of a mirror. That return is the one every seller in this trade learns about once, and it is decided entirely by GSM and knit.

Then the waistband and the gusset. A shallow band rolls down at the front on every wearer, and a legging cut without a gusset splits at the seam junction first. Both come back to you as faults rather than as complaints, and both are the cheapest things a factory quietly leaves out.

Then the colour split and the pockets, which the mixable minimum lets you actually test. Black moves all year to the gym trade, the brights move on Instagram, and a pocketed style carries a higher asking price than a plain one taken from the same carton.

Then the sample, which is the one part of this worth being slow about. Approve a physical piece before bulk production starts, wash it twice and keep it in your office. It settles every argument afterwards, and without one you have no position at all when the goods do not match the conversation.
