A packaged water plant is a NAFDAC project with machines inside it. The machines are the straightforward half, and they are not the half that delays people.
Description
A water line is two systems that get bought as though they were one. There is the treatment train, which makes the water fit to drink, and there is the filling machine, which puts it into a sachet or a bottle. Buyers concentrate on the filling machine because that is the part that looks like a factory, and then discover that the treatment side is where the money and the approval both sit.
Treatment runs from your raw source through sediment and activated carbon filtration, softening where the water is hard, reverse osmosis, and then ultraviolet and ozone before it reaches the filler. How much of that you actually need is decided by what your borehole contains, not by a supplier package. This is why the laboratory analysis comes before the equipment list rather than after it, and why we ask for it first.
On the filling side, a sachet machine forms the film, fills and seals in one continuous pass. A bottling line is separate machines in sequence: rinser, filler, capper, and a labeller if you are branding. Several producers run both, because sachet carries the volume and bottled carries the margin.
What NAFDAC will look for
Borehole depth. Where there is no municipal supply, the guidance is a borehole of 150ft or deeper. A shallow well already on the property is frequently the reason a site fails.
Independent water analysis. A detailed laboratory report on the raw water before treatment, from an analyst of the Institute of Public Analysts of Nigeria. Where the factory has no in-house quality department, a standing arrangement with an IPAN laboratory for subsequent batches.
Premises layout. A defined flow through cloakroom, packaging material store, raw material store, production, then finished goods store. Insect-proof netting on windows. Toilets accessible but away from production. Sachet and bottled production separated.
People. A Food Handlers Certificate for every member of staff, production and non-production, issued after a medical check. A production manager holding at least an OND in a science discipline.
None of that is equipment, and all of it is why plants sit idle after delivery. We tell buyers this before the machine is ordered rather than after, because the building work and the paperwork run in parallel with manufacture if you start them together.
Specification
These are the parameters that decide the right line. Figures are confirmed against the specific machine and against your water analysis before we quote.

| Total connected load | Ask for it in kW for the whole line, pumps and compressor included. That figure sizes your generator, and the generator drives your running cost more than any other decision. |
We do not publish prices, because the landed figure depends on the specification, the Customs valuation and the exchange rate on the day you pay.
Minimum order
One line. Production machinery carries no batch minimum. A single sachet machine with its treatment train is a normal order and we handle it exactly as we would a multi-line plant.
Where minimums do appear is on consumables bought alongside: film, sealing rolls and spare filter elements are usually sold by the carton or the roll set. We ask for those figures from the supplier and put them in the quotation rather than leaving you to discover them at reorder.
Lead time is manufacture plus shipping plus clearing. We give you a range for each and keep you informed, rather than a single date that depends on a vessel schedule nobody controls.
What decides the right one
Your water, first. Two plants twenty kilometres apart can need different treatment trains, and a supplier quoting a standard package without seeing an analysis is quoting for someone else's borehole.
Then the honest daily output. Sizing on the number of hours you wish you could run produces a machine that idles, and idle capacity is paid for in cement, roof and generator whether it turns or not.
Then service. A sealing bar or a UV lamp is a consumable, and a machine whose parts take four months to arrive is a machine that stops. We ask what is held in Nigeria before we recommend a brand, because the answer changes which one is cheaper over three years.
