Heavier denim from 12oz up holds its shape and its crease better but runs warmer, and it is the weight boutique buyers usually specify for a straight or wide-leg cut meant to hang rather than cling.
Stretch content	Rigid 100% cotton denim or a cotton-elastane blend, commonly 1 to 3% elastane. Stretch denim gives more room in the fit tolerance, which matters because the Asian grade runs tight through the thigh. A rigid straight or wide-leg cut needs a more accurate size order, since there is no give to cover a misjudged waist.
Wash and colour	Dark indigo rinse, mid-blue wash, light wash, distressed or whiskered finishing, and solid black denim. Dark washes and black sell steadily to market traders across the year. Light wash and distressed detailing move faster with younger, boutique-facing buyers but hold a narrower audience.
Waist and size range	Commonly 28 to 42 inches on the Asian grade. Ask for the measurement chart in centimetres rather than the waist label alone. Asian sizing runs smaller than Nigerian buyers expect, particularly through the thigh and seat on a slim fit, and this is the most common complaint on a first denim order.
Rise and leg opening	Mid-rise is the standard cut across this range; low-rise and high-rise are both available on request. Leg opening is what separates the fits visually more than waist size does, and it is worth confirming in centimetres for the wide-leg style, since "wide" is not a fixed measurement between suppliers.
Closure and hardware	Zip fly with a button waist closure is standard; a full button fly is available as a factory option. Hardware quality, the rivets at stress points and the belt loop stitching, is what fails first on a low-cost pair, and it is worth checking on the sample before bulk production runs.
Pockets and detailing	Standard five-pocket construction on slim and straight fits. Wide-leg styles are available with added cargo pockets on the thigh, currently the stronger-selling detail in that cut. Contrast stitching and whisker distressing are decorative and add a small cost per piece.
Minimum order	1,000 pieces across the whole order, not per wash or per fit. Washes, fits and sizes are mixed freely within that figure.
Colour and wash consistency	Wash is matched against an approved sample before bulk dyeing, since indigo wash depth shifts between production lots. A repeat order placed without a reference sample from the first run will not match it exactly.
Packing	Folded and individually polybagged, or bulk packed by carton with the size run set per carton. This decides how much sorting happens before the first pair reaches a rail.

Custom labelling, non-standard washes and made-to-order stretch ratios each tend to carry their own minimum on top of the base figure. Light wash and distressed finishing sell faster to a narrower, younger and more boutique-facing buyer, and they date more quickly if the fashion in wide-leg or cargo detailing moves on. A mixed order weighted toward dark and black, with a smaller run of light wash and wide-leg to test demand, is the safer split for a first order.

Then stretch against fit tolerance. A cotton-elastane blend forgives a size that is slightly off, which matters because the Asian grade runs small against what a Nigerian buyer expects. A rigid, non-stretch denim in a wide-leg or straight cut has no such give, so the size order needs to be more accurate, taken from the centimetre chart rather than the waist label.

Then the sample, which is the one part of this worth being slow about. Approve a physical pair, in the wash and weight you have specified, before bulk production starts, and keep it in your office. It settles every argument afterwards on colour, weight and fit, and without one you have no position at all when the goods do not match what was discussed.
